We are seeking a Vice President, Finance, for a position based in Toronto, Ontario.


Scope of Position

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Finance, will oversee all accounting, tax, regulatory and administrative functions of the firm. He or she will have the support of a Senior Accountant and Office Manager, and will work closely with the Partnership group, to ensure appropriate operational oversight of these functional areas, and to provide accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders. Based on performance, it is expected that the Vice President, Finance will assume the Chief Financial Officer position within 24 months.


Functional Tasks

  • Oversee and manage all financial reporting and budgeting, including preparation of financial statements for all funds and related entities
  • Work with the investment professionals to ensure portfolio positions are correctly recorded and valued
  • Oversee and support operational, day‐to‐day financial management of all aspects of the business with the support of the Senior Accountant and Office Manager
  • Develop and implement financial controls, systems and procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Oversee and coordinate internal and external resources for preparation of annual audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting, as appropriate
  • Manage the firm’s cash position, including the capital call credit facility, to minimize excess cash and optimize capital call frequency
  • Communicate with Limited Partners, as required, to provide regular and ad hoc information regarding their position in the funds
  • Manage administrative items such as insurance, benefits and IT resources
  • Participate in industry associations and conduct research to ensure the firm is up to date on the latest developments

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a position based in Toronto, Ontario.


Scope of Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate execution and recording of all day‐to‐day financial transactions of the firm and its related entities, and for the preparation of supporting analyses to enable accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders.


Functional Tasks

  • Record all financial transactions of the firm and its related entities
  • Process and analyze A/P and A/R, including billing of portfolio companies for relevant fees and expenses, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses between entities
  • Manage day‐to‐day cash balances, perform bank reconciliations and track receipt of investor capital calls
  • Process and analyze out‐of‐pocket expenses, ensuring compliance with internal policies
  • Perform month, quarter and year‐end closing procedures
  • Manage payroll and benefits functions
  • Support all financial reporting and budgeting, including preparation of financial statements and investor reports
  • Communicate with Limited Partners, as required, to provide regular and ad hoc information regarding their position in the funds
  • Manage the investor portal, including Limited Partner access and document posting
  • Manage all indirect tax‐related matters
  • Support external resources in the preparation of annual audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting, as appropriate
